Small debris such as peas or other food scraps does not effect the performance of the system. In fact, items that would typically block a low flow gravity drainage system will pass directly through to the Vac centre collection tanks and into the sewer line at tank discharge with no effect. Vacuum system drainage virtually eliminates clogged piping. However we do strongly advise that fish waste is bagged and disposed of separately as fish scales can, over time, form a glue which will clog extraction valves. Also some fish bones can be sharp and could puncture diaphragms in extraction valves. We also recommend that ice is melted before flushing away or, better still, removed for separate disposal. Ice can cause premature failure of extractor valves due to the fact that shards of ice can be sharp and will have an abrasive effect on the extractor valve diaphragms. As with any drainage system it is prudent to restrict disposal so as to remove any matter that could be potentially harmful to the system. |
